LEARNING CENTER:
Learning Centers are areas at a Focus on Health event where
participants are actively involved in learning about
wellness. Some participants will be motivated to learn about
health by reading a pamphlet at an un-staffed exhibit;
others may be motivated by a more creative, active approach.
A Learning Center is not simply an exhibit booth, but
basically a hands-on visual learning experience designed to
motivate, educate and improve one's health through
information ranging on disease prevention tips to daily
healthy living tips!
Current Learning Centers vary at each site location, but a
few of the featured exhibits are:
- Heart Health
- Osteoporosis
- Cancer Prevention
|
| Plan to bring your health-related
questions and concerns for dialogue with registered nurses,
dietitians, exercise specialists, and other health care
professionals located at these centers and also at the
summary and referral check out area. One of this year's new
offerings for individuals over sixty is balance testing
which focuses on preventing falls. Weight management,
nutrition, and colon cancer prevention are just a sampling
of other offerings available in these learning centers. |
